The nuclear-spin-diffusion constant $D$ in a powdered sample of pure Ca${\mathrm{F}}_{2}$ was determined to be (5.2 \ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{} 0.6) \ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{} ${10}^{\ensuremath{-}12}$ ${\mathrm{cm}}^{2}$/sec. This determination of $D$ is based on experiments which measure the macroscopic transfer of nuclear Zeeman energy from the surface of the particles to their interiors via nuclear spin diffusion. Several theoretical calculations of $D$ in Ca${\mathrm{F}}_{2}$ yield values consistent with this experimental value.
